Strain Origin:

In 1936, derived from the N:GP(S) population at the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

✈ In September 2013, Vital River introduced the core group of this strain from the NCI via Charles River, USA. In May 2024, the isolator core group of this strain was reintroduced from Charles River.

Research Applications: Pharmacology, toxicology, pathology, and bacteriology research, as well as the identification of biological products and pharmaceuticals.

Characteristics: Good breeding performance, high litter size, small body size, aggressive males, easy to manage in breeding facilities, strong adaptability to the environment, and strong disease resistance.
